“Armed with smiles, we teach food drying.”

Food drying is probably the most appreciated service we offer. It’s uncontested and at the end of the week, [the workshop participants] have something they can hold in their hands that works, can bring in income, and will help keep their families fed and healthy. When you live in a place that is dry the majority of the year, I’m sure it was a great joy to have something that would provide for them during that time. We had a lot of fun with it. One thing I really enjoyed was that the women were encouraged to get involved with everything, not just the parts about food preparation and cooking. Eager with smiles, they jumped in…grabbed wood and hammers and were happy to be able to learn.
